Knowing the difference...

Not all car seats are created equal - and not all car seats are meant for all vehicles.

Car Seat Safety Program

Continuing in our efforts to educate and train through our community services programs, St. John Ambulance is proud to offer the general public direct access to information sessions and car seat inspection clinics, designed to provide "hands-on" learning to the proper installation of vehicle safety systems for infants, toddlers and children.

Restraint systems are very specific.  When installed and used correctly it can serve to reduce the likelihood of serious injury by 70%, and fatality by 90% in a vehicle crash.

Which seat should I choose to best protect my child in my car?
When is it best to stop using one type of restraint to go to another?

These questions as well as Transport Canada provincial regulations and types of Vehicle Restraint Systems, are just part of the education that will assist you with identifing  which seat will be best for your child. Through our hands on training we will give you the skillls and education needed to continue keeping your children safe "no matter the vehicle you place your restraint system in".

If you; or someone you know, could benefit from this very important child safety program, please contact us or refer them to our site.

Thank you for your interest in our program and we look forward to meeting you soon at one of our events.
